FIELD: food industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a nutritional composition for an infant or a young child. Artificial nutritional composition contains at least one fucosylated oligosaccharide, which is 2'-fucosyllactose (2'FL), and at least one probiotic microorganism for use in preventing and/or treating constipation and/or reducing stool hardness and/or increasing transit speed in an infant or young child. Fucosylated oligosaccharide(s) is present in total amount of 0.8–1.5 g/l of composition or in total amount of 0.55–1.05 g/100 g of composition in terms of weight dry substance, and the probiotic microorganism is present in amount of 10³ to 10¹² CFU/g of said composition (based on the weight of the dry substance). Infant is a child under age of 12 months, and the young child is a child aged one to three years.

EFFECT: disclosed is a composition for use in improving stool consistence or frequency in infants or young children.
