FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for surfacing with a metal material. The steel metal material is surfaced on a steel metal substrate and hardened by static-pulse treatment with shock strain waves in several stages. At the first stage, the deposited metal material at a temperature above 200°C but below the recrystallisation temperature is subjected to hardening, increasing the strength and hardness thereof uniformly throughout the deposited layer. At the second stage, the deposited metal material at a temperature of 100 to 200°C is subjected to hardening, increasing the hardness thereof only on the surface, i.e. the increase in hardness has a gradient nature. Moreover, at the third stage, the cooled deposited metal material at a temperature of up to 100°C is subjected to hardening, further increasing the hardness value on the surface of the deposited layer.
EFFECT: reduced characteristic size of grains and phase elements and, therefore, increased hardness and strength of the deposited metal material.
