FIELD: chemical industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of catalysis and describes a carrier for a hydrotreating catalyst designed to produce petroleum products with a low sulfur content, which contains on its surface isolated lanthanum atoms of the order of 0.1 nm in size, consisting in a chemical bond La-O-Al, with a surface density of 5-50 atoms per 10 nm2 surface and a ratio of the number of Al atoms to the number of La atoms equal to 50-10000, and the ratio of low-temperature forms of aluminum oxide χ-Al2O3 and γ-Al2O3 in the carrier in wt. % is (50-95):(50-5); it is characterized by a specific surface area of 200-300 m2/g, a pore volume of 0.5-0.85 cm3/g, an average pore diameter of 7-13 nm and consists of granules with a cross section in the form of a circle, trefoil or quatrefoil with a circumscribed circumference diameter of 1.0-1.6 mm and a length of up to 20 mm.
EFFECT: increase in the catalytic activity of the hydrotreating catalyst prepared on the basis of the claimed carrier.
