SUBSTANCE: invention relates to thermal power engineering and can be used in the circuitry of thermal power stations, including for small distributed generation. The technical result of the invention in terms of the structure of a thermal power station is achieved due to the fact that the thermal power station based on the Rankine cycle comprises: a boiler unit with a steam turbine and a feed water pump, connected in series and forming a vapour-liquid path, an electric generator connected with the steam turbine, an absorber with an absorbent return circuit, a steam generator is built into the boiler unit, the absorber is connected with the steam generator via the feed water pump, the steam generator via an absorbent cooler, and an expansion valve is connected with the absorber. Also proposed is a method for operation of a thermal power station.

EFFECT: significant increase in the efficiency of electric power stations due to elimination of the capacitor and losses from the power station cycle associated therewith and replacement thereof with an absorber.
