FIELD: measuring technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of measuring technology and relates to a method for determining the thickness of a two-layer Ni-Cu coating by atomic emission spectrometry. The method includes making calibration samples, applying a galvanic coating on them, dissolving the coating of the calibration samples in a mixture of acids, measuring the content of nickel and copper in the resulting solution and measuring the thickness of the coating of the calibration samples on an atomic emission spectrometer. When measuring the thickness of a two-layer coating, the glow discharge mode is applied: U = 1200 V, I = 50 mA, t = 150 sec. Calibration by composition includes the construction of calibration curves for nickel and copper using samples of various alloys, followed by measuring the thickness of the two-layer coating of the calibration samples and calculating the calibration coefficient.
EFFECT: simplifying the method, reducing the analysis time and increasing the accuracy of measurements.
