SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely, to dentistry, and is intended for use in evaluation of the tooth shape restoration. The area of the occlusal and crown surfaces of the teeth is measured. The area of the occlusal and crown surfaces of the teeth is determined using an intraoral scanner with subsequent processing of the information in a personal computer. The index relief indicator is calculated in the percentage form, as the ratio of the area of the occlusal surface to the area of the crown surface of each tooth. The indicator is therein determined in patients aged 18 and the data thereof is entered into the medical record of the dental patient and the calculated value is viewed as an individual norm of the index relief indicator for each tooth. In the future, when these patients are treated, the tooth relief index indicator is determined again and the quality of treatment is compared when restoring the morphology of the tooth relative to the norm of the index relief indicator. If the index relief indicator is 80% or higher, a high treatment quality level is set, from 40% to 80% - an average treatment quality evaluation level, below 40% - a low treatment quality evaluation level.

EFFECT: method, due to the use of quantitative indicators in evaluating the conducted recovery, provides a possibility of assessing the work of a dentist during restoration of the crown part of the tooth, assessing the quality of the conducted treatment in the patient.
