FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: described is a method for producing 2,3-deoxy-Δ2(3)-ecdysteroids by the formula:

.

The method is implemented by a reaction of dideoxygenation of ecdysteroids in a dimethylformamide solution in the presence of a mixture of 4 mol equivalents of NaI (sodium iodide) and Zn (zinc powder) with application of ultrasound for 3 hours. The reaction mixture is then treated with water, and the products are separated by column chromatography on a silica gel.

EFFECT: method allows for effective, selective and quantitative production of configuration-homogeneous Δ2 (3)-precursors used for synthesis of biologically active steroids.
