FIELD: computing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a system and method for assessment of driver behavior. The system for assessing the behavior of a driver of a vehicle contains a video camera installed inside or outside a moving vehicle in such a way that external lighting devices and at least one registration plate of another vehicle located directly in front of the camera fall into the field of view of the video camera, a computing device associated with the camera, equipped with a processor and memory, and means for determining the state of movement of the vehicle. The computing device is configured to receive a signal from a video camera to determine the fact of switching on at least one external light device located directly in front of another vehicle and record in memory each fact of switching on at least one external light device located directly in front of another vehicle, as well as its registration plate.
EFFECT: increased road safety.
