METHOD FOR TREATMENT OF TUBULAR BONE FRACTURES IN SMALL DOMESTIC ANIMALS Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC A61D99/00 A61B17/56

Abstract RU 2760214 C1

FIELD: veterinary medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to veterinary surgery, in particular to a method for treating transverse and oblique fractures of the tubular bone in small domestic animals. The method is characterized by the fact that a pin made of adhesive stainless steel with a length exceeding the length of the bone by 30-50 mm, with pointed ends at an angle of 60-80° is screwed into the proximal bone fragment through the fracture site along the medullary canal to the epiphysis with the help of a surgical drill, and the pin has a thread along the entire outer surface, and its size corresponds to the diameter of the bone marrow cavity. Then, the proximal and distal bone fragments are repositioned. After that, the pin is screwed into the medullary cavity of the distal fragment to the bone epiphysis, providing a fixed connection of bone fragments, and the protruding fragment of the pin in the zone of the proximal epiphysis is cut and its pointed edges are sanded to reduce injury to nearby tissues.

EFFECT: use of the invention will ensure minimal injury, reduce the time of regeneration.
