FIELD: operation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of operation of in-field and main pipelines, complicated by the formation of intracavitary deposits. The method includes supplying heated oil to the pipeline and measuring the time of its passage through the pipeline according to the data of two temperature sensors installed at the beginning and end of the pipeline. Before the heated oil is fed into the pipeline, a low-liquid-soluble gas - methane or nitrogen - is pumped into it; before and after the gas is pumped into the pipeline, a rim of a highly viscous finely dispersed water-oil emulsion with an emulsifier is pumped into the pipeline. The volume of deposits is determined as the difference between the internal volume of a clean pipeline and the volume of oil preheated to a temperature of 40-60°С located between two temperature sensors.
EFFECT: accuracy of diagnostics of the volume of deposits is increases, the choice of the optimal method for their removal is provided.
