FIELD: fiber-optic production.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the assembly of an optical fiber tape and to a method for its production. Claimed assembly (1) of an optical fiber tape contains a set of adjacent optical fiber tapes (2) passing in longitudinal direction (4) and arranged in a plane, wherein each of adjacent optical fiber tapes (2) contains a set of optical fibers (6) mutually connected by matrix material (8), and fibers pass in the longitudinal direction, and they are located in the plane; wherein the mentioned set of adjacent tapes (2) forms at least one set of two adjacent tapes (2) having gap (10) between mentioned two adjacent tapes (2). The assembly also contains binding material that forms intermittent connections in the gap between two adjacent tapes of the set and thereby binds two adjacent tapes of this set. In this case, binding material has the shape of thread (12), wherein one thread (12) is provided for each set of two adjacent tapes (2), while mentioned thread (12) is located along the length of the mentioned assembly, passing only along two adjacent tapes of the set, and in such a way that thread (12) forms multiple intersections (14) over gap (10) between two adjacent tapes, and thread at each intersection forms a connection from the mentioned intermittent connections between two adjacent tapes. In this case, binding material is present in the gap, and outside the gap, it passes only in corresponding adjacent edge zones (18) of two adjacent tapes of the set, wherein the edge zone is defined as a zone containing at most 30% of the width (w) of the tape in the transverse direction.

EFFECT: creation of a fiber-optic tape with improved properties in terms of separation into component tapes that could be separated without damage from the rest of tapes.
