FIELD: optics.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a fibre-optic tape and to a fibre-optic tape. The claimed method for manufacturing a fibre-optic tape comprises supplying multiple optical fibres to provide a longitudinal assembly of the optical fibres, wherein the multiple optical fibres are arranged in parallel and adjacent to each other, wherein each of the multiple optical fibres comprises, from the centre to the periphery, a glass core, a glass shell, a primary coating, a secondary coating, and an outer layer formed from a partially hardened first hardening resin; applying a second hardening resin from a dispenser to the surface of the assembly, wherein the second hardening resin forms multiple consecutive elongated rectilinear rollers configured to form connections between two adjacent optical fibres from the multiple optical fibres; and passing the assembly with the rollers from the second hardening resin applied thereto through a hardening station to harden the second hardening resin and to complete the hardening of the partially hardened first hardening resin of the outer layer of each optical fibre in order to form connections. The invention also relates to the resulting tape.

EFFECT: creation of an optical tape and a method for manufacturing an optical tape exhibiting high flexibility and providing a possibility of rolling or folding optical fibres in the direction of the width of the tape and at the same time exhibiting high strength, as well as containing groups of at most three optical fibres encapsulated with a matrix material, wherein individual optical fibres can be separated from said tape without damaging the adjacent optical fibres.
