FIELD: medical equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical equipment, more specifically, to photodynamic therapy (PDT). The apparatus includes an electromagnetic emission source equipped with a cooling system and creating a light channel ensuring formation of a light spot on the damaged organ, connected with a light spot control unit. The apparatus comprises an element focusing the light spot on the tissues of the damaged organ inside the body of the patient, which can be made in the form of a hollow chamber with a specular-reflecting inner surface shaped as an elongated biaxial ellipsoid truncated by a plane perpendicular to the major axis thereof and built between the geometric centre of the ellipsoid and one of the foci thereof, wherein the source of electromagnetic emission is rigidly fixed in the focus. The apparatus therein comprises light filters transparent for the wavelength intervals required according to the conditions of medical application of PDT.

EFFECT: creation of an apparatus suitable for focusing a light beam in PDT.
