FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to oncology and maxillofacial surgery, and can be used for treating initial stages of oral cavity and lip cancer at invasion depth of not more than 7 mm. That is ensured by the peritumoral administration of Technephyt 99mTc radiopharmaceutical preparation with activity of 40–60 MBq a day before the operation to determine the guard lymph node location by single-photon emission computed tomography. 2–4 hours before the operation, a photosensitiser of Photolon or Fotoditazin is introduced in amount of 0.8–1.2 mg/kg of body weight. That is followed by intraoperative single laser irradiation with maximum radiation at wave length 662 nm, power density 200–400 mW/cm2 and total dose of 100–300 J/cm2 on tumor growth zones. Duration of light exposure is determined by formula T=D/P, where T is time of light exposure (c), D is required energy density (J/cm2), P is power density (W/cm2). After the PDT is completed, the radioactive isotope display is followed by the surgical removal of the sentinel node with the surrounding tissue. Pathomorphological examination of a remote sentinel node is performed.
EFFECT: method provides the effective treatment with preserving the functional state of the injured organ.
