FIELD: microwave technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to microwave technology and can be used in the development of cathodes of electron guns in the interests of creating powerful generators of superhigh frequency (microwave) radiation. Two protective electrodes are installed on the cathode holder, an assembly composed of alternating elements with emitting and non-emitting surfaces is placed between the protective electrodes. In the assembly, the elements with the emitting surface form a common radially symmetric surface characterized by the ability to generate explosive emissions. A common radially symmetric surface is formed of elements alternating in the assembly with emitting surfaces, made in the form of circular rings, and these elements are folded into the assembly in such a way that their edges in the assembly form a surface in the form of a body of revolution, in the assembly these elements alternate with elements with non-emitting surfaces in the form of spacer rings. In this case, in an explosive-emission cathode, circular rings with an emitting surface can be made of tungsten.
EFFECT: increase in degree of homogeneity of the plasma created during explosive emission, ensuring the manufacturability of the assembly and saving consumables.
