FIELD: accelerator technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to accelerator technology and is intended for use in the development of sources of bremsstrahlung based on electron accelerators and in the control of their parameters when used in flaw detection and industrial tomography of thick-walled objects. The method for determining the size of the focal spot of the accelerator bremsstrahlung radiation includes repeated irradiation of a slit collimator with a constant slit size and the detector behind it with bremsstrahlung radiation from the accelerator target at different distances between the accelerator target and the collimator, measuring the bremsstrahlung dose distributions behind the collimator depending on the coordinates and determining the size focal spot according to dose distributions depending on the distance between the target and the collimator.
EFFECT: simplification of the determination of the size of the focal spot of the accelerator bremsstrahlung.
