SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of coating and can be used to improve the performance characteristics of machine parts made of polymer materials of various structures that are used in the chemical, food and other industries and agriculture, for example, for surface hardening of cylindrical gears, bevel gears, impeller blades and housing blades of liquid-ring machines and shaft disk seals. The method for surface hardening of a thermoplastics part includes preliminary preparation of the thermoplastics surface and subsequent introduction of ferromagnetic powder particles. Preliminary preparation of the thermoplastics surface is carried out by grinding. Then a layer of ferromagnetic powder of various sizes is applied to the surface of the thermoplastic. The subsequent introduction of these particles of ferromagnetic powder into the prepared surface of the thermoplastic is carried out by simultaneously exposing the deposited layer of ferromagnetic powder to a magnetic field with magnetic induction, the minimum value of which is 0.05 T, and the injected heated air to obtain a metal composite layer.

EFFECT: invention provides an increase in the service life of polymer parts, an increase in surface hardness and strength, as well as a reduction in the complexity of the process of surface hardening and composition selection, with the exception of the need to use intermediate compositions in order to avoid toxic volatile components entering the air.
