FIELD: veterinary medicine.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to veterinary medicine and can be used to identify porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS) virus in the body of pigs of various breeds and ages. The method consists in pre-selecting blood and obtaining blood serum, isolating viral RNA from the blood serum and performing reverse transcription with real-time PCR. The following primers are used for amplification: forward No. 1 (SEQ ID NO: 1): TGGCTGCTGAAGATGA, forward No. 2 (SEQ ID NO: 2): ACAGCTCCRATGGGGA, reverse (SEQ ID NO: 3): GAAGTCACGCGAATYA and a TaqMan probe (SEQ ID NO: 4): FAM-TGCAATCGATCCAGAC-BHQ1. A logarithmic increase in the level of fluorescence in the FAM channel indicates the presence of the PRRS virus in the blood of pigs.

EFFECT: technical result is a highly sensitive, publicly available and safe method for identifying the PRRS virus, as well as reduced time for diagnostic work in order to detect the virus.
