FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to ophthalmology. The individual value of the thickness of the choroid in the fovea and the antero-posterior size of the eyeball of the examined patient are determined. To calculate the coefficient for predicting the risk of developing choroidal retinal neovascularization, the average value of the choroidal thickness in the fovea is initially determined in persons without retinal pathology and in persons with pathology with myopic choroidal retinal neovascularization, depending on the obtained value of the anterior-posterior size of the eyeball of the examined patient. Then, the prediction coefficient for each examined patient is calculated taking into account the obtained values of the choroidal thickness in the fovea of the examined patient and the average values of the choroidal thickness in the fovea in persons without retinal pathology and in persons with pathology with myopic choroidal neovascularization of the retina. The obtained coefficient for predicting the development of choroidal neovascularization of the retina is analyzed: with a prediction coefficient of less than 25%, a low risk of developing choroidal neovascularization of the retina is predicted, with a prediction coefficient of 25 to 50%, an average risk of developing choroidal neovascularization of the retina is predicted, and with a prediction coefficient of more than 50%, a high risk is predicted.
EFFECT: method allows early detection of patients at risk of developing choroidal neovascularization and improvement of possibility of diagnostic screening.
