FIELD: automotive industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the automotive industry. The method for checking a tire includes the following: laying a tire having an axis of rotation on a support plane, defining the support sidewall, a free sidewall located at a certain height above the support plane, and a crown located between the free sidewall and the support sidewall; the base circumference of the tire is selected, located on the crown; then the tool is brought to the tire laid on the reference plane so that it lies on the measured surface, while the measured surface is part of the outer surface of the free sidewall; pushing the tool into the surface to be measured so as to apply a force directed against the reference plane to the surface to be measured, creating a deformed measuring surface located at the tool height. During pushing, the tire is rotated relative to the tool for at least one complete revolution about the axis of rotation. The height of the reference circle is then measured during this complete revolution, and the presence of a defect in the tire is determined based on the measured height of the reference circle. Also disclosed is a tire tester.
EFFECT: improving the speed and quality of tire inspection.
