FIELD: rail vehicles.
SUBSTANCE: technical solution proposes that from the rail vehicle, in relation to the area (FSB) of the section located in front of the railway vehicle, a plurality of reference images (RBI) of the railway section (BST) representing each given section (FSB) of the section are recorded and stored in particular railroad track (SST), Metadata (MD) was available about the tracked track (BST, SST). The camera (BFZK) of a railway vehicle recorded a calibration image (KBIMD) of a section of a railway track (BST, SST) determined on the basis of metadata (MD), with a straight track. In relation to the track, on the basis of the track travel, the calibration image (KBIMD) contained information indicating the position and orientation of the camera (BFZK) of the railway vehicle, the so-called posture. Based on the corresponding calibration image (KBIMD), reference image metadata (RBIMD), reference images (RBI), based on the pose information, a correction value (KW) was calculated as the difference value from the reference position on the metadata reference image (RBIMD). The calculated correction value (KW) was used to generate information (KKI) for camera calibration or interpretation of image information in the calibration image (KBIMD).
EFFECT: simplified calibration of a camera of a railway vehicle.
