SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway automatics for recognition of track signals. In method, when vehicles (BFZ, SFZ) move on sections (BST, SST) in railway network (BNE, SNE), based on a) stored as reference data (RDA) measured along section (BST, SST) in railway network relative to geographical environment and control signals of railway traffic of reference information in form of reference information (ROI) and reference information (RSZI) of position signals state, obtained in the context of measuring contextual and indicator information (KHI) and additional meta information (MI), and (b) comparing measured in signal recognition mode based on data (BOK, SOK) position of working information (BOI) places and operating information (BSZI) of signal state with stored reference data (RDA) to detect signal (SI) and state (SZ) of railway traffic control signal (BVK, SVK) on railway section (BST, SST), by evaluating relevance and content of information is provided, when comparing, measured operating information (BSZI) of signal state for signal recognition is found, which relative to information (BOI) and corresponding to it reference information (ROI) places corresponds to reference information (RSZI) of information contained in reference data (RDA) taking into account contextual and indicator information (KHI) contained in reference data, and available meta information (MI).

EFFECT: higher reliability of automatic signal recognition on railway transport.
