SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the food, chemical industry, including the field of food additives of plant origin. A method for obtaining a dry extract from fucoid algae includes grinding the thallus of fucoid algae, extracting, filtering and drying the extract. In this case, before extraction, algae thallus are treated with a spark discharge with the support of thermionic emission in air at atmospheric pressure at an electric field strength of 6-8 kV/cm for 2-3 minutes.

EFFECT: invention is aimed at increasing the yield of alginic acids from fucoid algae.
