PACKER FOR FIXING SHANKS IN WELLS Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC E21B33/12

Abstract RU 2762275 C1

FIELD: oil and gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the oil and gas industry, namely to means for covering the inner cavity between the casing and the wall of the well, in particular to a packer for attaching shanks in wells when completing vertical, inclined, and horizontal wells. The packer includes packer elements with swelling material and protective discs. The packer is assembled in the form of separate packer elements: support and buffer, alternately mounted on the shank pipe and separated by protective discs, with swelling material of varying degrees of swelling, 10-15% and 40-50%, respectively. The supporting packer element is made in the form of a metal housing that is detachable along the generatrix, the surface of which is covered with swelling material from the inside and outside. The metal housing contains a device for locking directly on the shank pipe. On the inner surface of the swelling material, annular grooves of trapezoidal cross-section are made, located with a smaller base to the axis of the supporting packing element. The support packer element has an additional coating of a swelling composition with an increased swelling rate compared to the swelling rate of the swelling material of the support packer element. The buffer packer element is made in the form of a hollow cylinder formed by winding layers of woven swelling material reinforced with rubber rods located between layers of woven material coaxially and radially to each other. The swelling material of the support packer element is made with the possibility of swelling in a hydrocarbon medium, and the swelling material of the buffer packer element is made with the possibility of swelling in an aqueous medium.

EFFECT: increase in the reliability of separation of productive layers is provided.
