FIELD: optical detection; ranging.
SUBSTANCE: present technology relates to optical detection and ranging systems (lidar, LiDAR) and, more specifically, to lidar systems for detecting objects in a region of interest. A lidar system and a lidar-based method (LiDAR) for detecting objects in a region of interest (hereinafter – ROI) contain a radiation source for the radiation of an output beam; optical fiber connected with the possibility of communication with the radiation source for receiving and transmitting the output beam and radiating the output beam from an output end with the first distribution; a drive connected to optical fiber to communicate motion to the output end, wherein the motion contains positions of the output end determining the total first distribution of the output beam; an optical lens located at a focal distance from the output end and made with the possibility of transmitting the output beam in the direction of ROI and causing the distribution of the output beam to the second distribution, which is greater than the first distribution, and at the same time the total second distribution, when the output end moves, is greater than the total first distribution; and a processor to control the drive and motion to modulate an angle of distribution of the output beam in ROI.
EFFECT: increased productivity and provision of scanning of an enlarged area compared to traditional systems without the use of additional light sources and taking into account the minimization of moving components.
