FIELD: medical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: safe catheter node contains a catheter sleeve containing a valve and a valve opener for opening the valve; a catheter tube attached to the catheter sleeve; a needle sleeve; a needle attached to the needle sleeve and protruding through the catheter tube; and a needle protection located in the inner cavity of the third sleeve located proximally relatively to the catheter sleeve. The needle protection contains a proximal wall having a hole, as well as two legs, each of which contains an end. The support formed by the third sleeve distances two ends of the needle protection from the needle in a ready position. A method for reducing the resistance acting on the needle of the catheter node and an alternative option for performing a safe catheter node are disclosed.
EFFECT: increase in the safety of medical workers.
