FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine, namely, to vascular surgery, and can be used in examination and assessment of the condition of plantar vessels. For this purpose, ultrasonic duplex angiography is performed. The sensor is therein first placed at a point located 1.7 cm below the level of the medial malleolus, at the posterior edge thereof. A line located between said point and the tuberosity of the navicular bone is then projected. The sensor is positioned at an angle of 80° relative to said line and moved until the plantar surface of the foot is crossed - point A. The angle of inclination of the sensor is then reduced to the value of 50 to 60° relative to said line and the sensor is also moved until the plantar surface of the foot is crossed - point B. Scanning is then conducted in two directions: from point A to the tuberosity of the metatarsal bone and from point B to the first interdigital web. Then scanning is conducted along the line projected at the level of the heads of the metatarsal bones.

EFFECT: method provides determination of the patency and condition of blood flow in plantar vessels using ultrasonic duplex angiography.
