SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to devices for making a beverage. A device for making a beverage contains a thermal conditioning device, such as a heater or a cooler. The thermal conditioning device contains: a control unit for control of a start phase of the specified thermal conditioning device from an inactivity temperature to a working temperature. The specified control unit contains: a controller with a start profile to start the specified thermal conditioning device and a temperature sensor connected to the specified controller to measure a temperature of the specified thermal conditioning device. The specified start profile has at least one parameter, and the specified controller has a self-training mode to adjust the specified at least one parameter. The self-training mode leads to that the specified controller, during the start phase, performs following actions: calculates a linear coefficient characterizing a temperature change rate during the specified start phase of the specified thermal conditioning device, adjusts the specified at least one parameter depending on the specified calculated linear coefficient, and uses the adjusted at least one parameter for the remaining part of the specified start phase.

EFFECT: adjustment of at least one parameter of the start phase to achieve a precise working temperature.
