FIELD: air disinfection.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to air disinfection and can be used to purify the air from pathogenic microorganisms. The basis for blocking bacterial and viral background is a highly porous sorbent: titanium dioxide aerogel with a specific surface area of 583.1 m2/g, saturated with a disinfectant component in the form of molecular chlorine dioxide, with a maximum sorption capacity of aerogel relative to chlorine dioxide of 3.78 mmol/g. Methods for blocking the bacterial and viral background using this basis are proposed.
EFFECT: group of inventions makes it possible to disinfect the air of public spaces, such as medical, educational and office premises, crowded places with the controlled release of a safe amount of a disinfecting component without an exposure time limit.
