FIELD: hair care.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for processing keratin-containing material, including bringing material into contact with a composition including one or more hydroxy-substituted aldehydes selected from of 2-hydroxydecanal, 2-hydroxydodecanal, 2-hydroxytetradecanal, 2-hydroxyhexanal, 2-hydroxyoctanal, 6-hydroxyhexanal, 4-hydroxybut-2-enal. The invention also relates to a composition for hair care for improving at least one hair property, including from 1 to 30% by wt. of one or more surfactants and one or more hydroxy-substituted aldehydes selected from of 2-hydroxydecanal, 2-hydroxydodecanal, 2-hydroxytetradecanal, 2-hydroxyhexanal, 2-hydroxyoctanal, 6-hydroxyhexanal, 4-hydroxybut-2-enal.
EFFECT: proposed group of inventions provides for perm or straightening in mild conditions or provides for increased docility and/or combability.
