SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to methods for countering color loss in colored material. A method for countering color loss in colored material includes following stages: (1) bringing material into contact with a composition including electrophilic substances selected from aldehydes; (2) bringing material into contact with a composition including a chelating agent and/or salt of amine and carboxylic acid; or stages (1) and (2) are performed simultaneously, and material is brought into contact with one composition including: electrophilic substances selected from aldehydes and a chelating agent and/or salt of amine and carboxylic acid; where aldehyde is aldehyde substituted with hydroxyl selected from hydroxydecanal, 2-hydroxydodecanal, 2-hydroxytetradecanal, 2-hydroxyhexanal, 2-hydroxyoctanal, 2-hydroxypropanal, 6-hydroxyhexanal, 3-hydroxypropanal, 4-hydroxybut-2-enal, 2-hydroxybutanal, 3-hydroxybutanal and 4-hydroxybutanal. A method for hair coloring and the use of electrophilic substances selected from aldehydes and a chelating agent and/or salt of amine and carboxylic acid for countering color loss of colored hair are also disclosed.
