FIELD: oil processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for clarifying pyrolysis oil obtained as a result of thermal processing of automobile tires. A method for processing pyrolysis oil includes mixing of the specified oil and a non-polar solvent for regulating oil polarity. Then, the mixture is settled down during at least 30 min to precipitate insoluble substances. Unwanted components including polar substances are bound with attapulgite clay. Next, pure oil is eluted with the non-polar solvent, and the non-polar solvent is separated from oil. A device for processing pyrolysis oils is proposed.
EFFECT: inventions allow for changing the color of pyrolysis oil from black to dark amber and yellow, eliminating the smell of sulfur/amine, reducing the content of carcinogenic polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) in pyrolysis oil.
