FIELD: machine tools.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to processing of materials using milling inserts or inserts for embedding at an angle with inclined cutting edges. The double-sided indexable insert for embedding at an angle with a non-positive front angle has a rotational symmetry of 180° around each of the first, second and third axes of the three-dimensional Euclidean space. The insert comprises two first surfaces and a peripheral surface of the insert passing between said first surfaces, and four cutting parts, wherein each of said parts comprises a main cutting edge, a stripping edge transversely connected thereto by means of an angular cutting edge, and an inclined edge extending from the stripping edge in the transverse direction when observed in a view parallel to the first axis. Each peripheral surface comprises four non-positive back inclined surfaces, wherein each surface extends from the corresponding inclined edge in the direction of the first median plane defined by the second and third axes, but does not extend beyond said plane.
EFFECT: possibility of milling while cutting the ledge of the workpiece at a predetermined angle is provided, productivity is increased.
