SUBSTANCE: group of inventions can be used for milling inclined surfaces of parts. The cutting insert has two opposite end surfaces connected to each other by a peripheral side surface. The peripheral side surface has two large and two small side surfaces. Large edges are formed at the intersection of large side surfaces and end surfaces. Each end surface has two diagonally opposite high angles and two diagonally opposite low angles with respect to the median plane. Each high corner is adjacent to one of the large edges at the first major point, and each low corner is adjacent to one of the large edges at the third major point. In the large side view, each major edge has a corresponding first imaginary straight line containing its first and third major points, and a raised edge portion located on one side of the first imaginary straight line. The cutting insert is designed to be removably secured in a rotating cutting tool.
EFFECT: cutting insert is proposed.
