FIELD: processing of materials by cutting.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to processing of materials by cutting and can be used in milling parts. In the cutting tool the multifaceted cutting plate is detachably fixed in the tool body. Cutting plate has opposite upper and lower end surfaces connected to each other by peripheral surface, and located between them middle plane. Peripheral surface includes four side surfaces alternating with four angular surfaces. Lateral and angular surfaces cross the upper surface to form upper main cutting edges and upper angular cutting edges. Each side surface has a middle surface and an upper main rear surface. Each upper main rear surface forms an acute internal angle of the upper main rear surface with a middle plane, which crosses four middle surfaces with formation of an imaginary square. On the upper end view of the cutting plate, four upper main cutting edges define an imaginary upper main square, which is rotationally displaced relative to an imaginary middle square. Disclosed is the design of the milling tool.
EFFECT: higher strength of cutting edges and longer life.
