SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to the field of sealed and heat-insulating membrane-type tanks for storage and/or transportation of fluid media, e.g., a cryogenic fluid medium. A sealed and heat-insulating tank for a fluid medium, wherein the tank wall includes at least one heat-insulating barrier and one sealing membrane. The sealing membrane includes a row of parallel corrugations (9) with a longitudinal direction (15) and flat sections located between said corrugations (9). Said corrugations (9) protrude from the flat sections on the side protruding relative to the sealing membrane. The heat-insulating barrier is located on the side protruding from the sealing membrane, the heat-insulating barrier additionally includes a groove (19). The axis along the width of said recess (19) in the direction of the width of the groove (7, 8) crosses said groove (7, 8), wherein said groove (19) has a width (20) greater than the width of the groove (7, 8). The tank additionally includes a plug (18) located in the groove (19). The plug has a width (22) greater than the width (14) of the groove (7, 8), wherein the plug (18) has a cutout (21) configured for a corrugation (9) to be inserted. The plug (18) is located in the groove (19) so that the cutout (21) is located in the groove (7, 8), and the corrugation (9) is located in the cutout (21), and so that the plug (18) plugs a section of the groove (7, 8), located on the side protruding from the sealing membrane, creating a drop in the pressure of the flow circulating in the groove (7, 8).

EFFECT: reduction in the convection due to the creation of a sealed and heat-insulating tank with a sealing membrane including corrugations.
