SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method and apparatus for manufacturing induction-heated aerosol-forming rods (100). The method includes the stages of feeding a continuous profile (20) of a current collector into the continuous rod forming process so that said profile enters and passes through the rod forming process along the central axis (80) of the rod forming process, feeding a continuous web (30) of a substrate containing an aerosol-forming substrate into the continuous rod forming process so that said web enters the rod forming process in the lateral direction toward the profile of the current collector, and passing the web of the substrate and the profile of the current collector through the rod forming process thereby collecting the web of the substrate into a rod shape around the profile of the current collector substantially coaxially with the central axis. The present invention additionally relates to an apparatus for manufacturing induction-heated aerosol-forming rods (100). The apparatus comprises a rod-forming apparatus (10) configured to collect a continuous web (30) of a substrate containing an aerosol-forming substrate into a rod shape around a continuous current collector for collecting a continuous web (30) of a substrate containing an aerosol-forming substrate into a rod shape around a continuous current collector.

EFFECT: precise positioning of the current collector of the apparatus for manufacturing induction-heated aerosol-forming rods.
