FIELD: image processing means.
SUBSTANCE: horizontal division and vertical division are performed on a latitude and longitude map or a sphere map of a processed image to obtain subdomains of the latitude and longitude map or the sphere map. The location of the horizontal division is a given latitude, the location of the vertical division is determined by latitude. There are at least two types of vertical division intervals in the area formed by adjacent horizontal division locations, and the vertical division interval is the distance between adjacent vertical division locations. The subdomain image is sampled in the horizontal direction with the first sampling interval, in which a higher latitude corresponding to the subdomain indicates a larger first sampling interval. Encoding of images of obtained subdomains contains: encoding of images of selected subdomains and encoding of images of obtained subdomains.
EFFECT: increase in the encoding efficiency.
