FIELD: pharmaceuticals.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of pharmaceuticals and can be used for oral introduction of divalent metal cations into the body. The method for producing a composition containing at least one compound of a metal with an amino acid consists in the fact that first, the basic compound of a divalent metal is subjected to a reaction with an α-amino acid in a molar ratio of 1 to at least 2 in water when heated to a temperature ranging from 60 to 100°C, held until equilibrium is reached in the reaction, followed by admixing a water-soluble salt of the same divalent metal to the reaction solution, in the amount wherein the total molar amount of divalent metal composed of the amount of the basic metal compound and the amount of salt thereof does not exceed the molar amount of the α-amino acid, held until complete dissolution of the metal salt, and then the reaction solution is dried, resulting in a solid-phase composition. The invention also relates to a composition produced by the described method.

EFFECT: invention ensures production of a solid-phase composition with a high proportion of a crystalline component wherein a metal bischelate with an amino acid is combined with additional metal ions forming a water-soluble product with a low content of an amino acid and without polluting byproducts.
