Abstract RU 2764764 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of medicine, namely, to a transdermal delivery system for systemic delivery of memantine, containing: (a) an adhesive layer in contact with the skin, for adhering the transdermal delivery system to the skin of the consumer; (b) an intermediate layer in direct contact with the adhesive layer; (c) a medicinal product container layer on the intermediate layer, wherein the medicinal product container layer substantially consists of a memantine salt and an alkaline salt, a penetration-increasing agent constituting a higher alcohol, a carrier in the form of a hydrophilic solvent, cross-linked polyvinylpyrrolidone, and a copolymer of acrylate, wherein the alkaline salt constitutes an acetate, oxalate, citrate, tartrate, bicarbonate, or hydrogen sulphide Na+, K+, Mg2+ or Ca2+, wherein, after the transdermal delivery system is applied to the skin of the individual, a memantine base is formed in situ as a result of reaction of the memantine salt and the alkaline salt, also relates to compositions for systemic delivery of memantine and to a method for delivering memantine to an individual in need thereof, including bringing a tissue of the individual in contact with the transdermal delivery system.

EFFECT: group of inventions ensures creation of transdermal compositions with medicinal products contributing to stable long-term introduction of anti-dementia agents (e.g., 1 to 10 days or longer), ensuring stable and efficient release of the agent during the introduction period and having suitable adhesion for prolonged introduction.
