FIELD: treatment of gases.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and apparatus for reducing metal oxides to a metallised material by contact with a hot reducing gas. Blast furnace gas is subjected to dry dedusting, and reducing gas is produced at least partially by catalytic reforming of the mixture of the initial gases. The mixture of the initial gases is composed based at least on gaseous hydrocarbons and at least a partial amount of dry-dedusted blast furnace gas. The content of water vapour in the dedusted blast furnace gas is adjusted only in the humidifier in the counterflow with humidifying water or also in the humidifier in the counterflow with humidifying water. The temperature of the humidifying water is brought to the set value by mixing cold water with warm water of a higher temperature than the cold water to produce humidifying water. A portion of the dedusted blast furnace gas is fed via a bypass bypassing the humidifier wherein the content of water vapour is adjusted in the remaining dedusted blast furnace gas, and then said portion and the remaining gas are combined.
EFFECT: invention ensures adjustment of the content of water vapour, simple and quickly responsive to various requirements for implementation of the technological process.
