FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing 2-(methylthio)-4-(4-nitrophenyl)-6-ethyl-1,3,5-triazine of the formula I that can be used as an antimicrobial agent. The method is carried out by recycling 4-hydroxy-5-methyl-2-(4-nitrophenyl)-6H-1,3-oxazine-6-one with 1,3-binucleophile-S-methylisothiourea, in a molar ratio of 1:2 in a methanol medium at 64°C during 4 h with subsequent release of the target product from the reaction mass by distilling the solvent and further treatment of solid residue with a sodium bicarbonate solution.
EFFECT: obtaining 2-(methylthio)-4-(4-nitrophenyl)-6-ethyl-1,3,5-triazine for use as an antimicrobial agent in medicine.
