FIELD: wireless communication.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication; it can be used to generate and apply a reference signal, in particular a demodulation reference signal for a physical broadcast channel (hereinafter – PBCH). A base station processor generates a synchronization signal block for generating a reference signal, which includes, along with the primary synchronization signal (PSS), the secondary synchronization signal (SSS), the physical broadcast channel (PBCH) and the demodulation reference signal for PBCH, sequences of the reference signal for the demodulation reference signal generated based on a pseudo-random sequence that is initialized by a value, wherein the mentioned value is determined based on (a) a physical cell identifier (PCID) and (b) a synchronization index of the synchronization signal block. The base station also contains a transmitter transmitting the synchronization signal block.

EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of generating a reference demodulation signal.
