FIELD: computing technology.
SUBSTANCE: method of controlling the view from a virtual camera in the virtual world comprises stages wherein, based on the position of the helmet display (HMD), the initial turning angle of the virtual camera relative to the global coordinate system of the virtual world is determined, wherein the virtual camera is packed into a container so that turning of the container causes turning of the virtual camera and container relative to the global coordinate system, wherein the virtual camera is configured to rotate relative to the container based on the position of the HMD; an instruction to change the view to a specific direction is received; the required turning angle relative to the global coordinate system is determined for the view so as to correspond to this specific direction; and the container is turned to the turning value based on at least both the required turning angle and the initial turning angle of the virtual camera.
EFFECT: provided possibility of navigation for the user when interacting with the virtual world.
