FIELD: dentistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a new cleaning composition for dental prostheses, in particular, to an alcohol-free composition. The present invention also relates to a towel for a dental prosthesis, impregnated with the cleaning composition, and to an application thereof for cleaning removable dental prostheses. Described is a cleaning composition for dental prostheses, containing: (a) 3 to 15% wt./wt. of isopropyl ether of a fatty acid, selected from isopropyl palmitate, isopropyl myristate, and combinations thereof; (b) 0.5 to 4% wt./wt. of sorbitan polyoxyethylene ester, and (c) 0.5 to 4% wt./wt. of a second sorbitan ester selected from sorbitan monostearate, sorbitan monolaurate, sorbitan palmiate and combinations thereof; wherein the cleaning composition comprises 0.7 to 12% wt./ wt. of propylene glycol and 85 to 90% wt./wt. of water and does not contain methyl, ethyl or isopropyl alcohol.
EFFECT: composition according to the present invention provides good cleaning of dental prostheses and significant removal of microorganisms while minimising damage to the dental prosthesis.
