FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in a shaft furnace during iron smelting. Disclosed is a method of blowing an oxidizer at the speed of sound or supersonic speed into a shaft furnace, in which there is at least one overheating point and/or at least one cold spot, where the duration of the active phase of the oxidizer blowing at the speed of sound or supersonic speed into the section with the overheating point decreases, and where duration of active phase of oxidant blowing at speed of sound or supersonic speed into section with cold spot is increased. Each nozzle is adapted to blow gaseous medium at the speed of sound or supersonic speed into one of n sections of the shaft furnace cross section within the height interval Δh above level h from bottom of shaft furnace, wherein n nozzles are located on one level h' from the bottom of the shaft furnace or at different levels within the height interval Δh above level h from bottom of shaft furnace.
EFFECT: invention allows blowing oxygen-enriched oxidizer into shaft furnace for efficiency of operation and reduction of overheating points and/or cold spots and their negative effect on shaft furnace.
