METHOD FOR TREATING PREPROLIFERATIVE DIABETIC RETINOPATHY ASSOCIATED WITH DIABETIC MACULAR EDEMA Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC A61F9/00 A61F9/08

Abstract RU 2765602 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine, namely to ophthalmology. Retinal laser coagulation is performed in three stages with an interval of 10 days between the stages. In the first stage, threshold laser coagulation of the retina is performed therein using a laser with a wavelength of 532 nm, wherein coagulates are applied in a staggered order within the edema zone with a spot size of 100 mcm, with a distance of 100 mcm between the coagulates, the amount of pulses of 500 in 1 session, a pulse duration of 0.08 s, power of 60 MW until occurrence of grade I coagulates according to the L'Esperance classification. In the second stage, panretinal laser coagulation of the retina is performed using a laser with a wavelength of 532 nm, wherein coagulates are applied in a staggered order in the middle periphery of the retina with a spot diameter of 300 mcm, with a distance of 300 mcm between the coagulates, the amount of pulses of 500 in 1 session, a pulse duration of 1.4 s, power of 120 MW until occurrence of grade II coagulates according to the L'Esperance classification. In the third stage, panretinal laser coagulation of the retina is performed using a laser with a wavelength of 532 nm, wherein coagulates are applied in a staggered order in the extreme periphery of the retina with a spot diameter of 500 mcm, with a distance of 300 mcm between the coagulates, the amount of pulses of 400 in 1 session, a pulse duration of 1.8 s, power of 140 MW until occurrence of grade II coagulates according to the L'Esperance classification.

EFFECT: method provides a possibility of reducing the risk of developing aseptic endophthalmitis, as well as the risk of forming retinal fibrosis, improving the maximum corrected visual acuity and retinal photosensitivity by reducing the retinal thickness in the macular zone, and also reduces the amount and density of solid exudates and hemorrhages.
