SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine and can be used in the practical work of sanatorium-resort institutions for the purpose of rehabilitation of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Basic drug therapy is carried out in the form of monotherapy with long-acting cholinolytics, or double therapy with long-acting cholinolytics and long-acting adrenolytics. Also used are inhalations of mineral water, physical therapy, manual chest massage and shared baths with nitrogen-siliceous low-grade mineral water. Additionally, thin-layer applications of sulfide mud are carried out on the back surface of the chest at a temperature of 38-40°C, exposure 15-20 minutes, every other day, for a course of up to 8 procedures, ingestion of low-mineralized sodium chloride mineral water 30 minutes before meals in the amount of 1/2 to 1 cup at a temperature of 36-38°C three times a day. Next, red laser radiation is applied to the nasopharynx and regional lymph nodes. At the same time, the nasal passages, the back wall of the pharynx, the wings of the nose, the area of the submandibular lymph nodes are irradiated sequentially for 1 minute for each zone, for a course of 10-12 procedures. Also, a cycle training course is conducted on a bicycle ergometer with a gradually increasing course of power from 50 to 75% of the submaximal, daily, in an amount of 10-12.

EFFECT: method provides an increase in physical performance, bronchial patency, and the quality of life of COPD patients in a shorter period.
