SUBSTANCE: lid for a container and a corresponding method for making a lid for a container are described. The lid has a side wall extending around the axis and a transverse wall located at one end of the side wall, and a dividing line is made on the side wall, providing the formation of a retaining ring, which is configured to remain attached to the neck of the container and extends to the free edge, and the closing an element made with the possibility of detachable interaction with the neck to ensure the opening or closing of the container, wherein the dividing line runs around the axis and is discontinuous in the circumferential direction to keep the said ring and the closing element connected, wherein the retaining ring comprises a connecting part along which it is connected to the closing element, a first connecting strip that extends from the first end region of the connecting part to the retaining part, and the second connecting strip, which extends from the second end region of the connecting part, the second end region being located in a circumferential direction on the opposite side of the first end region, and a tongue located between the first connecting strip and the second connecting strip and projecting or located in line with them so that, when the closure is in the open state and the connecting strips keep the closure connected to the retaining ring, the tongue can rest on the neck. A method for manufacturing such a cover is also proposed.

EFFECT: improvement of closures of a known type and a method for their manufacture, in particular closures comprising a retaining ring, which is configured so that it remains connected to the neck of the container, and a closure element made with the possibility of releasable interaction with the neck to provide the user with the possibility of opening, or, as an option, closing the container.
