FIELD: electrochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a corrosion-resistant Re-Ni-P electrode for the electrochemical production of hydrogen based on the Re-Ni alloy containing, at. %: Re 80÷85, Ni 10÷15. The electrode is characterized by the fact that it contains phosphorus in the amount of 1÷5, at. %. The invention also relates to a method for obtaining a corrosion-resistant electrode consisting in electroplating the Re-Ni-P alloy. The method is characterized by the fact that the process is carried out in an electrolyte with the addition of sodium hypophosphite (NaH2PO2) at pH 1.5 and 60°C, cathode current density 7÷20 A/dm2 with the following component ratio (g/l): KReO4 12, NiSO4⋅7H2O 120, citric acid anhydrous 80, NaH2PO2 5÷ 15, coating time is from 20 to 90 min.
EFFECT: expansion of the range of methods for obtaining hydrogen.
